EPW - Gregson a Paris, verge fusee quarter-hour repeater striking on two bells, 52mm, 18K rose gold OF original case with rear perimeter pierced with slits for sound transmission, case containing two nestled bells with hour striking via a single gong on a single bell and with quarter-hours striking via successive taps of two gongs each striking a different bell, bells not removed to inspect for possibility of hallmarks beneath, white enamel dial with winding aperture at 2, KWKS (key not included with this lot), verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and engraved scrolled two-footed balance bridge, no visible s#. Gross weight of assembled watch 69.9 dwt (108.6 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, repeat function engaging but is inconsistent with frequent omission of one or more hour and/or quarter-hour strikes, good repeat tone, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine scratches, grouping of pinpoint nicks to main plate adjacent one balance bridge screw; nearly flawless dial with only a few negligible flecks around KW hole; excellent hands; case shows little wear, bell with a bit of play despite its screw seemingly being tight, some scattered dings to rear, two small dings to left bezel shoulder, button latch good; tight bow; domed glass crystal with few mild fine scratches.
